  3. Welcome to the game of Bordello! by T&J Software!
  4.  
  5. Basically, you are running your own whore house and fighting against other
  6. players to attain the most profitable house by the end of the month! You
  7. can search for whores to work in your house (you may only have 10 at any
  8. one time), hire thugs to fight other players and to help protect your house,
  9. and many other features you will soon become very familiar with!
  10.  
  11. Your sysop sets a fixed number of what we call "game days". Let's assume
  12. your sysop has it set for 30. This means you may open your house for
  13. business 30 times during all your plays for that day. You do this by
  14. selecting "N" for next day. The amount of money made depends upon each of
  15. your whore statistics and your house level. The higher your house level,
  16. the more money your girls will make. Be warned, if a particular
  17. whore has a disease, her money earned will only be half normal!
  18.  
  19. As your hitting the NEXT DAY option and upgrading your whore house, be
  20. warned that the police may bust your house if you haven't payed them
  21. off enough! And, if you don't have enough money to pay the fine, you're
  22. finished! You'll have to start over from SCRATCH!!
  23.  
  24. When attacking other players using the covert actions, first view the
  25. top ten players using the "T" command from the main menu. This will let
  26. you know who the current top players are! The top ten are adjusted after
  27. each attack and everytime you view it! Watch yourself move up and down
  28. as you play!
  29.  
  30. The top scores are determined using the following formula listed below.
  31. Your overall score, or networth, is determined like this:
  32.  
  33.      CASH + (1000 x THUGS) + (5000 x HOUSE LEVEL)
  34.  
  35. On the main menu, you are presented with all the vital statistics you
  36. need including: cash, condoms, networth, police payoff amount, etc.
  37.  
  38. Bordello resets with the first player of the new month. The object of the
  39. game is simple, end the month with a higher networth than your opponents!
  40.  
  41. Let's start off by going over the MAIN MENU commands:
  42.  
  43. A-  ADJUST PHRASE: Changes the phrase you say to other players after
  44.     a successful covert action!
  45.  
  46. B-  BUY CONDOMS:  You may buy condoms in various lot sizes for your
  47.     girls to give to the guys during the NEXT DAY option. If your girls
  48.     run out of condoms, there is a percent chance they will contract
  49.     a disease. If they contract a disease, they will make less money
  50.     during the NEXT DAY option. Disease can be cured by the DOCTOR
  51.     (see the DOCTOR description below). Condom prices vary on a daily
  52.     basis!
  53.  
  54. C-  COVERT ACTIONS:  Covert actions will be described in detail below.
  55.  
  56. D-  DOCTOR:  Use the doctor to check your girls periodically! If you
  57.     run out of condoms your girls can contract diseases. Other players
  58.     can send thugs to infect your girls also! Read your MESSAGE file
  59.     regularly to see if other players have done this! The doctor will
  60.     charge a flat fee just to examine the girls, then, a screen will
  61.     come up listing your girls. A 'Y' in the disease column will confirm
  62.     that the girl has a disease. It will cost you 10% of the girls
  63.     total income to heal her.
  64.  
  65. F-  FIND WHORE:  Use this option when you have less than 10 girls in your
  66.     house. You may only find 3 girls per play! You will show up in a bar
  67.     type setting and are offered two choices: either LOOK for a girl or
  68.     go back to the MAIN menu. When you choose LOOK, a girls statistics
  69.     will be presented to you. You may either LET her go or KEEP her. No
  70.     matter what you choose, you lose one pickup for the that particular
  71.     play. Remember, you only get three! If you choose KEEP, she is added
  72.     to your whore house. You may always DUMP a girl in the WHORE INFO
  73.     section.

  75. G-  GET THUGS:  Thugs are used to protect your whore house from other
  76.     players and to attack other players! Thugs always cost $1,000
  77.     apiece. Try to keep as many of these guys around as possible!
  78.  
  79. H-  HELP:  Brings up this help file.
  80.  
  81. M-  MESSAGE AREA:  Use the message area to leave messages to other
  82.     players and to read your messages. Every time a player performs a
  83.     COVERT action against you, a note will be added to your message
  84.     file telling you who did it and what they did! You may also KILL
  85.     your message file after reading it.
  86.  
  87. N-  NEXT DAY:  This is where you open your doors for business! Each of
  88.     your whores will earn so much money based upon their looks, breast
  89.     size, disease, and your whore house level. The higher these stat-
  90.     istics, the more they will make. Remember, if any of your girls run
  91.     out of condoms, they can get a disease (there is a 5% chance for each
  92.     girl without a condom). Also, this is where the police could come and
  93.     bust your operation if you haven't paid them off enough! One BIG
  94.     NOTE here -- if you don't have enough money to pay the police fine,
  95.     you are out of the game and have to start over again!!
  96.  
  97. P-  PAYOFF POLICE:  This is where you can payoff the police to try and
  98.     get them to leave you alone! The more you pay the better the chance
  99.     they will leave you alone. Every time you UPGRADE your whore house
  100.     a level, the payoff amount is set back to ZERO! We won't tell you
  101.     what the KEY amount of money is, but it doubles for each house level
  102.     you have! The police payoff amount for each house level varies on
  103.     a monthly basis (just to make things interesting).

  105. Q-  QUIT GAME:
  106.  
  107. R-  REDRAW SCREEN:  In case of line garbage....
  108.  
  109. S-  START OVER:  If you feel like you are doing very poorly, you can
  110.     always use this option to start again! You must keep the same ALIAS
  111.     name however.
  112.  
  113. T-  TOP TEN VIEW:  View the current top ten players. This screen is
  114.     updated as you play!
  115.  
  116. U-  UPGRADE WHORE HOUSE:  Your whore house starts out at level ONE and
  117.     goes up to level 100! The higher the house level, the more money
  118.     your girls will make. Going to the next house level cost $5,000
  119.     times your current level. So, if you are currently level 4, to go
  120.     to level 5 would cost you $20,000.

  122. V-  VIEW HIGH SCORE:
  123.  
  124. W-  WHORE INFORMATION:  Use this option to view your whore statistics!
  125.     From this menu you may choose to DROP a whore if you wish. In order
  126.     to DROP a whore you will have to pay her to leave.
  127.  
  128. X-  EXPERT MENU: Use this option to use and EXPERT main menu. This should
  129.     help speed up play with 2400 baud users!

  132.                               COVERT ACTIONS
  133.  
  134. In the COVERT actions menu you will have the following options:
  135.  
  136. 1-  Steal money from another player.
  137. 2-  Steal a whore from another player.
  138. 3-  Sabotage another players whore house.
  139. 4-  Pillage another players girls.
  140.  
  141. You MUST have some thugs to perform any of these options! If the opposing
  142. player has more thugs than you, a fight ensues! (see the FIGHT section).
  143. If the opposing player has fewer thugs than you, there will only be a
  144. percent chance of his thugs fighting yours. If you successfully steal
  145. money from another player, it's added to your cash and deducted from
  146. his, etc...
  147.  
  148. Sabotaging a persons whore house will deduct one level from it (if it's
  149. greater than level ONE). There is only a percent chance that you will
  150. manage to do this. Pillaging another players girls will infect them with
  151. a disease!
  152.  
  153. In order to steal a girl from another player, you MUST have a vacant
  154. slot in your whore house!
  155.  
  156.                                FIGHTING
  157.  
  158. In some cases, you must fight the other players thugs in order to perform
  159. your covert action! If the fight menu comes up you'll see the following
  160. information and options:
  161.  
  162. You may choose to ATTACK or RETREAT.
  163.  
  164. You will see your THUGS left and power left and your opponents. If you
  165. select A for ATTACK, a random number is generated for each player. If this
  166. random number is LOWER than your power, you score a HIT! The same works
  167. for your opponent. Each successful HIT will deduct from 1 to 10 points
  168. of power from the other player.
  169.  
  170. Once the power of either player goes to ZERO the fight is over and you
  171. reap the benefits of the attack! The losing player will have TWO thugs
  172. subtracted and the winning player will lose ONE thug. So, no matter
  173. what happens, you will lose at least one thug in the fight.
